2023 Top Innovators Daryl Tol - Modern Healthcare

Tol’s vision of healthcare disruption doesn’t include one company disrupting the status quo, but a collection of organizations collaborating in a cohort to work on innovation. Breaking down the silos that exist in the industry led to the creation of the Health Assurance Ecosystem, which includes 16 systems, 14 of which joined in the past year. The systems work with each other and with the venture capital firm’s portfolio companies, which can test and fine-tune their products in response to real-world situations and specific needs. Tol’s goal is for the ecosystem to address the industry’s bigger pain points, while scaling General Catalyst’s portfolio companies.
