Dr. Machelle Allen: Most Influential Clinical Executives 2024

Allen led development of the clinical service line structure responsible for systemwide initiatives such as tele-intensive care units and electroencephalogram interpretations using artificial intelligence. Under Allen’s leadership, the system — which includes 11 hospitals, 30 health centers and other facilities — helped launch the city’s Behavioral Health Emergency Assistance Response Division program, in which social workers and emergency medical services personnel serve as first responders to 911 calls instead of police officers. Allen also led creation of the systemwide Office of Women’s Health Services.
